Most people book a guided walk to get away from rules and regulations. However, we include the following to give you full confidence in our competence and professional approach. When you book we will ask you to complete a booking form and will send you an electronic briefing pack.

Booking

The full fee for your booking is payable in advance of your walk but you can book and pay up to and on the day of your walk. A £10 per head deposit is required on booking, the balance payable before the start of your walk.

Payments to be made by cheque or cash or bank transfer. Cheques are payable to S H Crummay

It is the responsibility of Clients to ensure they are at the designated accommodation, meeting or collection point at the agreed time.

Cancellation

Cancellation by the Client:

As a small company, any cancellations can have a significant impact on us. For cancellation a retention of £10 per person (the deposit) will be made by Explore in Cornwall to cover administration for cancellation up to 4 days in advance of the date of your booking. For cancellation within 4 days of the date of your booking the full cost of the booking will be charged if the booking cannot be re-let to alternative clients. Explore in Cornwall will make every effort to re-let your booking in these circumstance.

Cancellation by Explore in Cornwall (The Provider):

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to deal with such contingencies there may be occasions when Explore in Cornwall, through no fault of ours, is forced to cancel a walk, or to make changes to a walk. Every effort will be made to inform the clients of these changes as soon as is practically possibly, this may be very short notice during or before the walk. If we have to cancel a walk for any reason, we will try to offer a suitable alternative date, failing this we will refund the full amount you have paid

Rights of Admission

Explore in Cornwall reserves the right to refuse a booking or debar a person from participating in our walks, if in our reasonable opinion their participation is likely to cause distress, annoyance or damage to themselves, other customers, or our walk leaders.

This includes participants who fail to advise us of a medical condition or disability which prevents their full participation in the walks, and participants who we believe may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

It also includes participants who in the opinion of the walk leader are not properly clothed or equipped to enjoy the walk in safety.We are not responsible for any inconvenience or costs incurred as a result.

Under 18’s

The requirements of the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority mean that we are unable to take under 18s unless they are accompanied on the event by their parent or legal guardian. Any booking for a person under 18 must be made by their parent or legal guardian.

Medical conditions & Fitness

In order to make sure Clients get the most enjoyable experience, please ensure you have an appropriate level of fitness for your preferred walk. If in any doubt, please ask beforehand, we can usually adapt walks and accommodate most requests.

Clients must inform us in advance of any disabilities, medical conditions or allergies which may affect your abilities during the event.

Liability and Insurances

We shall not be liable for any damages caused by the total or partial failure to carry out the contract if such failure is attributable to the client, is unforeseen or unavoidable, beyond our control and / or attributable to a third party.

We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate holiday / travel insurance, to cover cancellation and delay, death, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings, liability to third parties.

Explore in Cornwall has Public Liability Insurance in place of £5 million details available on request.

Final choice of routes

The choice of routes for all walks is at the discretion of Explore in Cornwall and routes may be altered to accommodate specific weather conditions or at particular times of year to provide the best possible experience. No guarantee can be given that we will encounter specific wildlife.

Photographs

Photographs taken on our events may be used on our website or other promotional material. If Clients do not wish to be photographed, please inform your guide.

If Clients would like photographs which they have taken to be used on our web site and promotional material, please email them to us; Clients will retain copyright.

Complaints and grievances

In the unlikely event that a client has cause for complaint about a Walk, the complaint should be made to the Provider during the event in order that corrective action can, if necessary, be taken.

The client acknowledges that it is unreasonable to take no action during a Walk but to complain later.

However, should a problem not be resolved, complaint should be made in writing within 28 days of the relevant Walk. To the extent permitted in law the Provider will not be liable in respect of claims first intimated later than 28 days from the close of the relevant Walk
